FAQs
-
A one-year Master's degree in Scotland typically costs international students around £20,000 to £35,000 in tuition, depending on the university and degree program. Undergraduate tuition generally falls within a similar annual range. One of the major advantages for American students is that most Scottish Master's degrees take just one year to complete, compared with many two-year postgraduate programs in the US, which can significantly reduce the overall cost of your degree
-
Depending on the university and degree program, American students may be able to access US federal financial aid, university funding and scholarship opportunities to help with tuition and living costs in Scotland. Our team can help you identify relevant scholarship and funding opportunities as part of the university application process. Eligible students studying full-time at degree level can also work up to 20 hours per week during term time under the conditions of a UK Student visa
-
Yes. University sport in the UK operates under BUCS eligibility rules which is completely separate from NCAA eligibility rules, so using all of your NCAA eligibility in the United States does not prevent you from representing a Scottish or English university. You will still need to meet the relevant BUCS eligibility requirements, which our team can help you understand before making the move
-
Absolutely. Finishing your college soccer career in the US does not have to mean the end of your playing career. That is why we are here. Libero Pathways helps student-athletes continue playing soccer overseas while earning an undergraduate or Master's degree in Scotland, with team placement opportunities across the Scottish professional football pyramid system and access to our professional agency network through Libero Sport & Education
-
Yes, you can. Many student-athletes combine university soccer with opportunities in the wider Scottish football system. At Libero Pathways, we will work alongside you to identify appropriate playing opportunities based on your ability, ambitions and personal circumstances
-
Yes, American or international students coming to Scotland to complete a full-time undergraduate or Master's degree will require a UK Student visa. Our team provides support throughout the visa application and compliance process, helping you understand the requirements, documentation and deadlines involved in making the move to Scotland
-
Your playing level will ultimately depend on your ability, performance and the opportunities available within the market. However, through our extensive network across Scottish football, we will place you in an environment suited to your level and ambitions, and are confident in providing exposure and opportunities to continue developing, competing and progressing throughout your time in Scotland
-
Yes. We help student-athletes identify suitable Scottish universities based on their academic goals while also evaluating their playing background and opportunities within Scottish football. -

-
Yes. International students will pay a one-time Immigration Health Surcharge as part of their UK Student visa application, meaning you will have access to NHS healthcare during their time in the UK. Our team will guide you through all of the relevant visa and healthcare requirements as part of preparing for your move to Scotland
